Sarah is a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist with 13 years’ experience of working in secondary schools and specialist child and adolescent mental health clinics across both public and private sectors. Sarah has completed further trainings, including an Advanced Diploma in Neurodiversity-Informed Practice and has developed expertise in working with autistic and other neurodivergent children, adolescents and their families.
Sarah offers assessments, individual therapy (short-term and long-term) and group work, as well as parent consultations and parent groups.
Personal Approach
I offer a warm, non-judgemental space within which children and young people can explore and make sense of themselves, their relationships and their experiences. At the core of my work is building a trusting relationship, so they feel safe to be their true selves.
While my primary training is psychodynamic, I adapt my approach to meet the needs of the child/young person, taking into consideration where they are developmentally, the way they communicate and the pace they set, so that I can be alongside them in their unique journey.
My approach is neuro affirmative so that individuals of all neurotypes —whether neurotypical, autistic, ADHD, or otherwise—are helped to understand themselves and feel validated. I work collaboratively with them to identify and reduce stress factors and to build upon their strengths and interests and support them to feel better equipped to cope with life’s challenges.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC).
I am committed to creating a safe and supportive space where children and young people can thrive.
